I took my car to the dealership this morning to get the oil changed and an overall inspection. My car is approaching five years old but only has a bit over 25,000 miles (40,000k), due largely to the fact that I was out of the country for an extended period on a job assignment in Tasmania. The service guy told me my tires are showing signs of dry rot and should be replaced. WTH, these tires are "guaranteed" for at least 50,000 miles. Never in my 61 years of living have I heard of dry rot in tires but after a bit of Googling apparently it is a real thing. There is plenty of tread remaining so this is rather annoying.
I'm just letting off some steam, per the forum title, but if anyone else has thoughts to share they are most welcome.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
